Elämämme koostuu tarinoista. Elettiin vuotta 2005 ja oli kouluni kevätjuhla, ylioppilasjuhlani. Tämä hetki oli yhden tarinan päätöstilaisuus, jossa muisteltiin menneitä ja pohdittiin tarinalle jatkoa.
Koko edeltävän päivän ajattelin, että en saisi jännitykseltäni nukuttua. Tämä oli kuitenkin turhaa, koska käydessäni nukkumaan, olin yllättävän rauhallinen ja nukuin hyvin. Aamulla kellon soidessa, tajusin, että tänään on juhlapäiväni. Toki päivä oli samalla myös haikea, oli aika sanoa näkemiin koululle, jossa olin kulkenut, opettajille ja suurimmalle osalle koulukavereista. Heräsin virkeänä ja pääsin sängystä tavallista helpommin ylös. Aamu sujui normaaliin tapaan; suihku, laittautuminen ja sujahtaminen mekkoon. Jännitys alkoi kuitenkin jo tässä vaiheessa kasvaa, enkä kyennyt syömään hirmuisesti aamupalaa.
Kun lakitus alkoi, omaa vuoroa ei tarvinnut kauan odotella, koska olin aakkosissa hyvin alkupäässä. Jännitys oli aivan valtava; kädet hikosi ja sydän hakkasi! Pelkäsin, että kaadun tai unohdan, mitä pitää tehdä. Mutta kuten helposti pystyy arvaamaan, jännitin turhaan ja kaikki sujui hienosti.
Käymäni lukio oli pieni, joten seremoniat hoidettiin nopeasti. Pääsimme hyvästelemään ihmiset, joiden kanssa olimme kolme vuotta jakaneet ja tiesimme, että valtaosan kanssa emme enää kohtaa kuin korkeintaan sattumalta. Painoimme viimeisen kerran koulun oven kiinni ja suuntasimme kukin tahollamme koteihimme jatkamaan juhlintaan rakkaidemme kanssa.
Tuo päivä, kun lakin sain päähäni painaa, sisälsi lukuisia ihania hetkiä. Aurinkokin toivotteli minulle oikein ihanaa juhlaa. Nautin juhlahetkistä kauniissa ja rakkaassa kodissani. Meillä kävi vierailu muutaman kymmentä, koska halusin pitää juhlat pieninä. Kukkia ja lahjoja tuli, mutta tarkemmin en niitä jälkeenpäin muista. Jälkeenpäin tärkein ja suurin lahja minulle oli se, että sain jakaa itselleni tärkeän päivän minulle läheisten ihmisten kanssa.
